Cladding

Cladding

Available in a variety of exquisite colours, Welsh Slate cladding possesses naturally occurring veining and variations in tone which add to its beauty and provide the designer with immense scope for creativity. This incredible aesthetic appeal has enhanced prestigious projects worldwide, from public buildings and churches to industrial and commercial developments and residential properties of distinction.
The Millennium Centre Cardiff, Snowhill Developments Birmingham and the ME Hotel London are great examples of the possibilities.

The same qualities that make it ideal as a roofing material also make it particularly suitable as a cladding material. Welsh slate is exceptionally uniform and inert, while its negligible water absorption of less than 0.3% protects it from frost damage.

The Welsh Slate colour is permanent and non-fading.

Welsh Slate is non-combustible, compatible with all other building materials and easily maintained, which together with its durability makes it a cost-effective choice for all building purposes.

Slate as an external stone cladding or internal lining can be held in place by metal fixings or frames or fixed to precast concrete panels.  Masonry units, in course heights up to 300mm and to random or specified lengths with pillared or sawn faces, give the modern designer unparalleled potential.
